Feeling a little bit emo. because of my missing mp3. life, is too quite without music.

lost.

February seems like the month for me to lose things.

At the beginning of the month I lost my mountain-goat bag; it was stolen when I put it at the racks in front of the bookstore.

Notice how the bookstore takes off their notices saying, "Strictly no bags allowed"? Well, that is because of me.

Later on I lost the chance to go to Bali really cheaply. I just missed the AirAsia promo by a few hours. And most of my friends who planned to stay here during the semester break is going. So then I totally flipped and changed my mind - I'm not staying here for the semester break! I just bought a ticket home to Jakarta on the 31st of May, so its FINAL.

So I also lost my chances of staying in Cyberjaya during break - although no-one really recommends it to me.

Then, today, I lost one of the people who I call my bestfriend. Yeah, maybe he doesn't feel the same, maybe I'm just another friend who doesn't really matter much. But he is important to me, and I care about him too much that it seems weird to imagine a life without him.

One of the few Indonesian's who are taking accounting in MMU bailed out - again. I already lost one friend, now I'm losing another?

I know I'm being a drama queen and making too much of a fuss about this. I mean, he's only changing major and still be in MMU.

But to imagine not having the same classes, not having someone there to laugh about the lecturer or sharing comments of that weird kid who's sitting on the other row. Imagining not going to lunch together after class and sharing the latest gossip. Imagining not having someone who I trust with my secrets here beside me.

Imagining going through the hellhole of "accounting" alone.

Alone.

One thing from being different... is being set apart from anything else.

The majority of Indonesian FOM students are taking Finance with Multimedia. They have the experience of sharing classes together, eating lunch together, doing assignments together.

I wont have that memory. The chances of having that memory is gone now.

I called my sister and bawled my eyes off until my credit is finished. But she managed to say a few words that ringed in my ear.

She said, "C'mon Amee, cheer up. You're used to leaving and being left by now."

Yes, its true. As a constant traveller who never stays in one place for more than 4 years, I'm used to being left and leaving things behind.

I try not to get attached.

But you never get used to the feeling of emptiness it leaves behind.

Never. No matter how many times, losing something is probably the most terrible feeling that ever touched my heart.

Like a papercut, though small, it stings like hell.


And to top it all, I also lost my MP3 player today. Noooooooo! What am I without my MP3??

Guys, I'm sick. *cough cough*

I have a fever, my throat is heavily inflamed, and my house is a pig's sty - when my personal space is a mess, that shows that I am also a mess.

I skip all my classes - yet again - but I still don't have the strength to get up to the clinic and get an MC. Sheesh. How can they expect sick people to walk around in the heat like that? And of course, when I eventually get to the clinic, it would be because I am feeling better... so how can the doctor know I was sick??? What if he denied me an MC? What a bogus system!

Anyway, like most of my sick days, I'll try to get better by cleaning the house, it usually works - by the time my house is clean, I immediately feel healthier.

So, in my spare time at home, I like to watch youtube, due to the lack of a certain electronic called a television.

One of my favorite shows in youtube is made by College Humor and its called Jake and Amir.

Seriously, I would MARRY someone like Amir! He's just really cute, hehehehe. And stupid. And annoying in a really cute way.

Valentine's day has come and passed, and I still haven't made a post about it! I'm planning to, since its all about my trip to Gunung Ledang, but I just haven't got the time yet, and my documentary is not complete yet... some of my chum's still hasn't uploaded the pictures that I want - the pictures of me, of course.

But there is a tale that crafted on this lovey-dovey event, the tale of my housemates.

Now, all my housemates are romantically involved with a guy, I'm pretty much the only single - and loving it! - gal at home. But I have to admit, there is a slight pang of jealousy that I felt when I discovered the gifts that they received!

Oh, the joy of gifts! I love gifts! It doesn't have to be expensive, in fact, all the best gifts that I ever got wasn't expensive at all!

And me? Well, I didn't even get a single bar of chocolate - except if you count the chocolate I got from Bang Azlan during the hike, but I'm pretty sure that has everything to do with my stomach grumbling and not because it was valentines day.

And the coolest gift that one of my housemates got was a sony mp3, and its RED! - my fav color!

Aww, goosh! Gosh, its oh-so-adorable! Me want! Me want!



I compare it with my puny and pathetic mp3 - that is slowly playing to its grave, its gonna die pretty soon - and... OMIGOSH! It has a sound recorder!!

I immediately asked premission to borrow it and did a test recording.

Hmm... what to record, what to record??

Ah, what better than one of my original songs? Hehehehe - narsistic mode: on.

So, actually, this post has got nothing to do with valentine's day. Sorry guys, I'm just not that into it - but i still accept gifts xD. This post is about a sony mp3 product test!

Yeah!

After I recorded a song, I played it, cringed everytime I sing off-key, but overall, I'm not quite satisfied with this minuscule device.

The downside of the recording is that the volume suddenly goes up and down, and it has nothing to do with how I'm singing - or maybe the mp3 tried to cover its "ears" because of my singing. And the recording is not clear. Hmm, the recording device gets 2 stars out of 5.

And heck, I went through all the trouble recording it, might as well upload it!


Story Behind It

I wrote this song on the 18th of March 2005 - woah, i was only 16 ya'll! - and I couldn't find the right chords for it. Until one day, around last month, my fellow musician, Zulramadhani helped with the chords. And voila! Four years later after it was written, it's completed! Oh, and when you listen to it, yeah, I know, I have bad pitch control, I am aware of that. I am a songwriter, NOT a singer. Hehehehhe. And I seriously need to brush up my guitar skills.

not so louse-y afterall

Well, I'm back from the clinic, and the kind, calm and collected Dr. Ali told me that..

I do not have body lice, just a common jungle bug that sticks to the skin and sucks blood.

Since I don't know the name of the bug, lets just call it the Cullen Bug. Hehehe.

And since its not body lice, its not contagious!

Whoop-tee-doo!


Well, I was fooled by Google and actually I was fit enough to go to class so in theory I wasn't entitled to get an MC (Medical Certificate).

But Dr. Ali was really kind and gave me an MC anyway, because I had sore throat.

Well, I've learned my lesson. Don't simply believe what the Internet says.

Today I managed to skip all my classes because:

a). I woke up late
b). I am sleep deprived because I was catching a deadline for a job
c). I have tonsillitis, and
d). I'm infected by body lice!!

*Que the screaming* EEWWWWWW! GROSS!

I know, believe me, I know.
It's absolutely disgusting!

How did it happened? Well, as I announced a couple of days ago, I went hiking up Mount Ophir or also known as Gunung Ledang. The trip was superb, and I will be posting about my tales up the mystical mountain later, now there are more urgent news.

After the glorious 3-day trip, I went home quite cheerfully coz I managed to come home in one piece and sick-free! Well that's what I thought... at that moment.

Late night on Monday I got a YM! spam from a fellow hiker in Melaka saying that,

"To those who went up Mount Ledang beware of red spots with a black dot in the middle. Once you see it, pluck the black part out because its a highly dangerous 'KUTU HUTAN' ".

When I read it I thought, "What the HELL is a KUTU HUTAN?"

I tried google-ing it. Didn't work.

Oh, well, I was feeling A-OK until on Tuesday I discovered red, scab-like marks on my body as I took a shower, and when you press it, it hurts! But I remained insuspicious and carried on with my shower, then went to class.

In a middle of the lecture, I suddenly remembered the spam message I got the other night. Then, without warning, I plucked the black part of the red spot - its like picking a scab - and, oh boy. What I thought was a scab, was actually A SCAB WITH FRIGGIN' LEGS!

And it walked around my finger and then...." EWWWW!!! GROSS GROSS! GERROFF OFF MEEEE~~"

*squish*

...then the bug died.

So now, I decided to stay off class because I know body lice is contagious as it can jump from one body to another - a quite lame excuse to laze out in my room, actually, ehehhee.

Today, as soon as i got up, I cleaned my room, got rid of everything related to my hiking trip, washed all my clothes, and took a long, long, long shower - the ones that makes your skin wrinkle. I scrubbed like mad and re-scrubbed, then re-scrubbed again.

I want to be rid of this hideous and embarrassing illness!!!

Silly old me, I still post it up here, annoucing it to the cyberworld albeit the embarrassment that I suffer for not having a cool disease!

Its friggin' body lice! Jeez!

What does that say about me? Does this mean I'm a slob?

Well, anyways, since the rain has died down, now I can proceed to the campus and try to get an MC and medication for my BODY LICE infection.

Sheesh.

Btw, wonder how this lice looks like?

undergoing housekeeping

My blog is undergoing housekeeping. I'm changing everything, and I'm also taking new pictures for the new layout. So no new posts will be coming out, but only for a while.

I'm stuck doing a lot of work that I've been putting off. Yes, I'm procrastinating, yet again! I really do hope that I can be cured from this bad habit someday.

onions, unicorns, and saturn

I am reading all the posts in twilightguy.com, and I can't stop. I have a morning class tomorrow and I'm sleep-deprived, thanks to my ingenious idea to drink strong tea before bed is a good idea.

But I still can't stop!

Anyway, I'm almost done with all his posts about the first book, then I'm really gonna sleep. I will. I MUST.

So, I'm just here to post this HILARIOUS thing that my roomie said. She's is the most wonderful, funny person I've come to know here in Cyberjaya.

We were preparing dinner - well, I was watching my housemates preparing dinner - and Rara was peeling the skin of an onion. The onion, which was kept in the fridge for God knows how long, has sprouts coming out of the top, and this inspired the following conversation.

Rara : Hey, look at this! It looks like saturn! *points at the sprouts coming from the top of the onion*
Me: Saturn?
Rara: Yeah, saturn. Eh, I mean, you know, the magical horse that has a horn. *gestures a horn with her hand on her forehead*
Me: *silent for a moment* You mean... unicorn?
Rara: Yes! That's it! A unicorn!

At that point, I simply and quite literally LOL-ed! Omigosh, I LOVE this person!

First, she mistakens a unicorn with saturn, second, she compares that onion sprout to a unicorn's horn. She is so imaginative. Brilliant!

Anyway, I'm off sleeping now. Ta-ta.

its about time i mention them

One of my new habits since the discovery of Twilight is checking for Twilight news on any gossip website, anywhere! Especially those websites specially made for Twilighters.

But there is one online mag that I have subscribed to for quite a while and is always up-to-date. The speed of the updates to gossip and news all over the world is so rapid, it's amazing! It truly lives up to their tag line, "It's Faster Than Mail", coz it really is faster than mail!

Yup, I'm talking about I.Are.Talk and its got everything that I need! A dose of I.Are.Talk every morning and I'm always updated with whats happening in Hollywood, what is the latest fashion, what movies to anticipate, what music to watch, what cool new artsy stuff is out there - its like a delicious meal for all those gossip-ravenous people out in the world, like me. Hehehe.

I don't respond well to caffeine. Well, actually, I think I respond a little TOO well to caffeine - it kept me awake all dawn!

Actually, I've been back since Friday, but I was just too lazy to update, and I'm breaking my promise on posting events that happened in Indonesia because i left the pictures on my dad's laptop.

Tomorrow - well, TODAY, actually. It's 3.38 a.m already - is the first day of class. Why on Tuesday? Well, it's because I have no classes on Monday. Whoop-tee-do!

I'm excited about it and terrified at the same time. And to top it all up, the first class is Financial Accounting Reporting II - the most dreaded subject of this semester.

Okay, on to other things. I was totally wrong. I'm not over Twilight yet. My enthusiasm was simply suppressed during the holidays because I had no one to share the excitement and anticipation of New Moon with. Not to mention the constant crooning of Edward Cullen/Robert Pattinson. It's gotten so bad, that everything in my life, everything I see can somehow be connected to Twilight!

And it's getting harder to differentiate Robert Pattinson and Edward Cullen, because they've seem to mash together and become one person! Now my roomate, Rara, and I are having major slip ups by calling him as "Edward Pattinson" or "Robert Cullen" - its maddening!

Do you guys notice how I seem to write with better grammar and spelling?

Well, it's all thanks to Kaleb Nation and his very entertaining website, The Twilight Guy. Guys, you really should check it out. He's the same age as me, but he's accomplished so much, I'm jealous and impressed at the same time!

Because he pointed out that it was quite annoying to write in bad spelling and grammar, I decided to brush up mine. He's an English major, fyi.

Not that I can't write proper English - a skill that MANY people seem to lack here in MMU, it's shocking! How did you guys manage to pass the English test? - but I just speed-write in my blogs, so I don't really pay attention to what I write and how I write it. Until now, that is.

I mean, we should preserve the use of good English and not get caught up in all those abbreviations and jargon's that young people use these days. Don't let our English depreciate! I mean, that is SMS language, in blogging, proper English is much easier to understand.

So thank you Kaleb Nation for inspiring me to write properly! :D

Twilight also brought me back to life from my 'zombie-like' state last semester. Now I have something to look forward to. Now I'm inspired to be better, to accomplish something.
